Joining a group ​

There are three ways to join a group: scan its QR code, open its invite link, or pick it from a category list in the app. On mobile you can even join without an account yet — straight into recording as a guest.

Every group has a QR code and a matching invite link, both generated from the group's permanent invite token. The owner finds them in the group options (and on the group's web page, under Share QR). The link looks like:

  • Scan the QR with the app (or your phone's camera) and you're taken to the join flow.
  • Open the link on a phone with the app installed and it opens directly in the app; without the app it falls back to a web page where (after signing in) you can join.

Scan from the sign-in screen (no account needed) ​

On mobile, you don't even need to be logged in. On the sign-in screen — below "Sign up" — there's a "Scan QR Group to join" option.

  1. Tap it and point your camera at the group's QR code.
  2. The app shows the name of the group you're about to join.
  3. Choose how to continue:
    • Join now (no account) — start recording straight away as a guest.
    • Register & join — create an account (or sign in), and you join as part of that.

Join now without an account (guest mode) ​

"Join now" drops you straight into the recorder (cockpit), already set to the group's sport / category and with the group selected — so you can start tracking immediately, with no sign-up.

As a guest:

  • You can record, and your activity is broadcast to the group like any member's.
  • You're focused on recording — other sections (Social Map, Profile) ask you to register first.
  • When you're ready, register or sign in and your guest recording is automatically kept and attached to your new account. Nothing is lost.

Owners can tidy up guests. Because a guest has no profile, the group owner can label them with a name and phone number from the member list — see Managing members.

Browse and join from the app ​

If you'd rather pick from a list, the app lets you choose a sport category and shows the groups in that category, sorted alphabetically. Tap a group to confirm and join. Each row also has a Show QR button if you want to pass the group along to someone else.

There's no free-text search box — discovery on mobile is by category list, by QR/link, or from your own current group.

Already have an account? ​

If you're already signed in and you scan a group QR (or open the link), the app simply joins the group and opens the recorder on the right category — ready to record with your crew.

Joining on the web ​

On the website, opening an invite link joins you to the group once you're signed in. If you're not logged in yet, the link remembers your intent: sign in (or create an account) and you're added to the group automatically. Unlike mobile, the web has no guest mode — an account is required.

Premium groups: everyone gets premium ​

If you join a premium group, you get the premium experience while that group is selected — no upgrade prompts, no premium timer — even as a free user or a guest. See Group features → Premium groups.

Leaving a group ​

You can leave a group at any time from the group options. The owner cannot leave their own group — they would delete it instead.
