Bluetooth varios & GPS
SportsTrackLive connects to Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) flight instruments for high-quality altitude, vario, airspeed and wind data — far beyond what a phone sensor provides.
Supported instruments
- VectorVario — vario, airspeed, heading, wind and glide-ratio data.
- XCTracer — real-time NMEA GPS and vario streaming.
- UltraBip / BlueBip — secondary variometers for audio vario feedback.
- FlyMaster GPS LS2 — connect to download stored flights (see below).
What you get
When connected, the instrument feeds the app:
- NMEA GPS (position, speed, heading).
- Barometric altitude and pressure.
- Variometer (vertical speed) — driving the audio vario.
- Airspeed, temperature, and calculated/reported wind.
- Glide ratio.
- The device's battery level, with low-battery warnings.
Pairing
Open the app's device settings, scan for nearby BLE devices, and select your instrument. You can manage multiple devices and see their connection status.
Downloading flights from FlyMaster
For the FlyMaster GPS LS2, you can connect over Bluetooth and download past flight records. The app converts them to IGC and imports them into your activity library — handy when you flew with the instrument but not the app.
TIP
For the audio side of vario — tones, sink threshold and volume — see Audio feedback & variometer.
