Challenges & leaderboards

Challenges turn a route into a friendly competition. Define a sequence of waypoints, and anyone's matching activity is scored automatically against it.

How a challenge works

  • A challenge has an ordered set of waypoints that participants must reach in sequence.
  • The challenge has a sport category — only matching activities qualify.
  • Time and distance to each waypoint are measured. You generally need to complete a minimum share of the waypoints (around 30%) to rank.
  • Results feed a leaderboard ranked by time and distance, with best scores highlighted.

Joining a challenge

  • Browse challenges by category, with participant counts and deadlines.
  • Scan a QR code to load and start a challenge instantly.
  • If your current sport category differs from the challenge's, the app offers to switch it for you.

During the activity, the cockpit can guide you to the next waypoint with distance and direction.

Creating a challenge

You can create your own waypoint challenge for your community to attempt. On the 3D player you can place and adjust waypoints visually on the terrain.

Leaderboards

Leaderboards recalculate as new results come in. You can see the top performers, your own rank, and how far you are from the best score. Challenges can be viewed on a 3D map showing all waypoints in order.

Localities & records

Beyond challenges, you can browse best scores and leaderboards by locality (country, region or specific area) and subscribe to a location to be notified about activity there. See Notifications.
