Statistics & analytics

Every activity is automatically analysed. The depth of analysis depends on the sport — free flight unlocks the most advanced metrics.

Core metrics (all sports)

  • Distance — cumulative GPS distance.
  • Duration and moving time.
  • Speed — current, average and maximum.
  • Altitude — current, min, max, and elevation gain/loss (ascent/descent).
  • Pace and average pace.
  • Heart rate and cadence when a sensor is connected.

Free-flight analytics

For paragliding, hang gliding and similar sports, SportsTrackLive computes:

  • Climb rate (current, average, max) and a variometer read-out.
  • Glide ratio — horizontal distance per unit of altitude lost, current and since takeoff.
  • Thermal analysis — automatic detection of thermals with entry/exit altitude, climb rate, turn rate (left/right) and core location.
  • Wind analysis — wind speed and bearing throughout the flight, computed from the flight itself (no weather model), plus wind segments. See Wind detection for how it works.
  • Time spent per altitude band.
  • Transitions and turns — glide time between thermals and total turn count.

Contest scoring

Free-flight tracks are scored automatically for multiple contest types: open distance, free distance, flat triangle, FAI triangle and XContest. You'll see the achieved distance, the applied score and whether the course was closed — ready to submit to scoring websites.

Profile-level statistics

Beyond a single activity, your profile aggregates:

  • Lifetime totals — number of activities, total time, best distance and duration.
  • A calendar view (year, month and last-30-days) with daily breakdowns.
  • Year-over-year comparisons.
  • A gamified points score based on recent activity.
  • Personal records by sport and by locality.

Free vs. Premium

Core metrics are available to everyone. Some advanced statistics and filters are part of Premium.
