Record your first activity

This walkthrough uses the mobile app, which is where most activities are recorded. If you already have a GPS file from a watch or instrument, you can instead upload it on the web.

1. Choose your sport

Open the app and go to the cockpit (the recording screen). Pick your sport category — paragliding, hiking, cycling, sailing, skiing and many more. Each sport comes with its own auto start/stop speeds and audio feedback, so the app behaves correctly for what you're doing.

2. Start recording

You have two options:

  • Manual — tap Start to begin and Stop to finish.
  • Automatic — enable auto start/stop and the app starts recording when you exceed the sport's speed threshold and stops when you slow down. Great for flying and riding, where you don't want to fumble with your phone.

While recording, the cockpit shows your live metrics: speed, altitude, distance, time, heading and more. You can customise which widgets are displayed.

3. Go live (optional)

Turn on live tracking to broadcast your position in real time. Followers can watch you move on the map, and you can have your start/stop pushed to emergency contacts over WhatsApp or SMS. See Live tracking.

4. Stop and review

When you stop, the app saves your activity and uploads it (or queues it if you're offline). You'll then see your full statistics: distance, duration, average and max speed, altitude gain, climb rate, and — for free flight — thermal and glide analysis.

5. Relive it in 3D

Open the activity and tap 3D replay to watch your track play back over real terrain. Scrub the timeline, change the camera, switch to a first-person view, and overlay related tracks. Read more in the 3D player guide.

6. Add the finishing touches

  • Add photos to your activity (mobile).
  • Add tags (event name, conditions) and features (the gear you used).
  • Set the privacy level — public, friends only, or private.
  • Share a link to social media or messaging apps.

TIP

No phone with you? You can still upload a .gpx, .igc or .fit file recorded by a watch or flight instrument directly on the web platform.
